“Fair Princess Mary’s pictured face,” which hung for so long upon the storied wall, was here also, – a half-length mezzo-tint engraving of the daughter of George II bu the well-known French engraver, Jean Simon, framed in a simple moulding of stained wood, now black or nearly so.” New England Magazine, May 1894 by Mrs. C. Van D. Chenoweth referring to articles taken out of the inn and given to a “kinsperson” after Lyman died. See Resources for complete article. I’m guessing this picture was in the Parlor.

“The old spinet of the inn parlor, the first musical instrument of its kind to appear in the town of Sudbury, was purchased for Miss Jerusha, who used to play upon it “The Battle of Prague” and Copenhagen Waltz.” She used to sing too, in strains of “Highland Mary,” so fashionable that day.” New England Magazine, May 1894 by Mrs. C. Van D. Chenoweth referring to articles taken out of the inn and given to a “kinsperson” after Lyman died. See Resources for complete article. (That’s not Jerusha in picture).
